The New R129 Standard: Enhanced Safety and Protection
Child car seat safety standards have undergone continuous updates to provide better protection for our little ones. The R129 standard is widely regarded as the safest standard, with improved head and neck protection. As part of this standard, side-impact crash tests are conducted to ensure maximum safety. To comply with the R129 standard, an i-Size car seat like the Osann Storchenmuhle Niki Complete must be installed using ISOFIX, which securely attaches the car seat directly to your vehicle's chassis. The implementation of the R129 standard occurred in three stages and will officially replace the existing ECE R44/04 standard, which is based on a child's weight, from September 2023.
